About Me
I am a fully qualified counsellor accredited by the NCPS and King’s Trust. Before establishing Robur Wellbeing, I spent over two years volunteering as a Samaritans listening counsellor and four years supporting young people as a Youth Support Worker.
Like many people, I have faced my own challenges in life. During that time, I turned to counselling for support. While it helped to some extent, I left feeling that something was missing. It wasn’t enough to give me the direction and progress I needed.
That experience inspired me to create Robur Wellbeing.
There are many excellent counsellors offering traditional therapy, and for many people that approach works well. My approach is different. I believe that alongside empathy, compassion and being truly heard, there are times when gentle challenge, honest conversations and practical direction can help people move forward.
I want counselling to feel like a real conversation, not an intimidating clinical experience.
I also want to help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Too many men and women of all ages feel they have to cope alone because they believe society expects them to be strong, keep quiet or simply “get on with it.”
I’ve been there myself. I know what it feels like to believe no one can help, to question whether asking for support is a sign of weakness, and to carry those struggles in silence. I understand the turmoil that can create.
My aim is to provide a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and honestly, without shame or embarrassment. Whatever has brought you here, we’ll work together to understand it, find practical ways forward and help you regain control of your life.
Whatever is important to you will be important to me.
